Born and raised in Osaka, Japan 1978-1997
University of Oregon for studying English and Physics. 1997-2000
Art Center College of Design. This is the design school where Phil Riehlman, Mark Jones, Bryan Benedict, Jun Imai, and lots of others went to. 2000-2004
Started my life at Mattel as a Matchbox designer. I have probably designed and worked on about 150+ diecast cars and lots of other things over 8 years of my time with Matchbox team. My 1st Matchbox project was either Hummer H3 or Scion XB. 2004-2012
Joined Hot Wheels team and started to manage basic cars. My very 1st HW car I designed was Gearonimo (2009 new model), but this was when I was still in Matchbox team, but worked as a guest designer. Other works I’ve worked as a guest:
- · Formula Street (based on one of my school project at Art Center)
- · Honda S2000
- · HW Jump Truck (both full size and 1/64)
My very 1st HW project as an official HW designer was ‘67 Chevy C10 (2013 new model). I normally work on about 20-30 new models each year so approx. 70 HW cars I’ve worked on so far. 2012 - Present.
